WHAT WE DO?

ROHI mainly focuses on providing aid to leaders of community projects that directly help to support and empower widows and orphans who have been affected by HIV/AIDS, as well as those who are marginalised, vulnerable and often forgotten by larger aid agencies.

We take a holistic approach by looking at the needs of the whole person – spirit, soul and body. Over the years we have raised funds and given grants to projects that have involved building accommodation and schools, leasing land and planting crops, purchasing and installing water tanks, distributing cloths, buying books, paying school fees and sharing the Christian message of love, forgiveness, acceptance and hope.

The two orphanage projects we currently support are:

  1. Calvary Kids Academy

  2. Christ Chapel Children's Home

Children who live in abject poverty in rural areas of Kenya and who have been abandoned, abused, neglected and orphaned by HIV/AIDs are routinely helped by the orphanage. Orphaned children receive food, clothing and education to help them get a positive start in life. The orphanage has a strong Christian ethos and foundation which undergirds its activities which include providing health care, clean water, sanitation, shelter, education, bible teaching and vocational training.

Support takes the form of providing vocational and secondary education, assisting with income generating activities, improving food care in order to increase crops and reduce disease and the risk of food poisoning, and by tackling anti-social behaviour and drug abuse.
