Rivers of Hope International is primarily a fund raising and grant making charity that is dedicated to relieving poverty and promoting education and the Christian faith in remote areas of Kenya by supporting indigenous leaders and community projects.

The wealth gap in Kenya, as in many other parts of Africa is almost unimaginable. The rural areas outside of Nairobi are some of the poorest areas in the world. Water and food are scarce, education is often expensive, future prospects and life expectancy are low. For the majority of people, many of whom are young orphans and widows, life is a day to day struggle for survival.

The work of ROHI is overseen by a board of Trustees of diverse abilities and life experiences. The Trustees meet at least quarterly in order to manage the charity and to ensure that it operates in a way that is consistent with the Trust Deeds. All requests for support are considered and scrutinised by the Trustees and evidence is obtained which legitimises each request for help and verifies that grants given for a specific need have been used for their intended purpose. Trustees receive no salary, honorarium or financial benefit from any donations given to this charity.
